The best part of the class is when we get out on the road in the neighborhood
and practice what we have been discussing. We start with good lane positioning
in the presence and absence of parked cars and when approaching intersections.
We do right turns, left turns and box turns. My assistant demonstrates proper
technique, then the students go through the intersection one at a time. We stop
frequently to discuss the upcoming maneuver and to get feedback on the previous
one. The parents ride along and watch their children, and their comments and
suggestions are welcomed.
